Wisconsin State Highway #93
Onalaska, Wisconsin

Construction Involved:
  • 5.062 miles new location
  • 1,012,387 cubic yards common excavation
  • 1,231,545 cubic yards borrow excavation

This project required 1.2 million cubic yards of borrow material for the completion of a new highway through a primarily agricultural region. Enebak Construction Company worked closely with adjacent land owners and soil conservation personnel to remove material from borrow areas. A careful restoration process was followed, and land owners who were participating in the CRP program neither lost payments nor paid any penalty on any disturbed areas. Construction began in March 1991, mass grading completed in October 1991.
