Tournament Club of Iowa
Polk City, Iowa

When a person thinks of Iowa, they do not think of the natural features that are present on this golf course. With over a mile of Big Creek winding through the property and hills that crest at over one hundred feet above the creek, it is truly a great setting for a golf course. The topographical relief is incredible. Huge trees surrounding the golf course add both beauty and challenge. The entire site consists of 500 acres, of which, 230 acres are dedicated to the golf course. Over a half million cubic yards of earth was moved to create this stadium style course, which is home to the PGA Champions Tour - Allianz Tournament. The Greens average over 7,000 square feet each, giving the players a large target. Seven Timber Bridges were constructed to span the creek. Six and a half miles of hand formed concrete cartpaths were built to carry the golfers through the park-like course. Twelve acres of lakes were also designed into this course to add challenge for the golfers.
